Because our core vision is Creating Social Change we are seeking people who can treat themselves and others with honesty and respect, and who have a genuine interest in supporting our mission of using therapeutic nutrition and holistic care for healing the animals and the people who love them.
You do not need to be well educated in these areas. If you have a genuine interest, have the capability of making a commitment and following through and would like to learn more about using food for healing, please continue.
As a volunteer candidate we ask that you:
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner.
- By this we mean be sincere when committing yourself to a volunteer assignment.
- Answer all emails sent to you and all phone messages left for you in a timely manner.
- Be honest when agreeing to take responsibility for a task.
- If you cannot keep an appointment with us, please CALL and let Leslie know.
When agreeing to come onsite, please be willing to volunteer with us at least 3 times. Precious time will be invested in training you. Please respect yourself and us by following this request. It often takes until the third visit to find the ‘sweet spot’ of volunteering with us.

- Oreo grooming, bathing, nail trim (requires woodworking Dremel)
- Facility cleaning
- Parrot enclosure cleaning
- Executive assistant tasks
- Outreach and follow-up via phone and email
- Take photos & videos
- Organizational tasks
- Fundraising
- Social media
- Event sign up sheets
Remote tasks
- Outreach via phone and email
- Fundraising
- Social media
- Assist with writing tasks
Farmers Market booth, Sundays
Set up and tear down, work the booth with Leslie. If you have a skill or love doing a task that is not listed here, please email Leslie and tell her how you can help us grow Emerald Ark. Help us help more dogs like Oreo in need. Enable us to expand all of our animal care and community outreach programs.
