FFURRR – Feral Feline Ultimate Rescue Rehab Re-home

Cat drinking from birdbath
Tunia, drinking from our birdbath when he was still feral.

Have you ever looked out the window at a feral cat eating the dish of dry cat food that you’ve set out for him and wondered … What can I do to bring this precious baby indoors? Well, in our FFURRR program, this is exactly what we do. Tunia, drinking from our birdbath when he was still feral.

Tunia (pronounced like petunia without the ‘pe’) had been a feral cat all of his life. He had developed a habit of coming to our birdbath out front every day. When he came this cat would drink for a solid five minutes.

The Tuesday before Christmas, 2023, Tunia showed up with a broken glass jar stuck around his neck and head. It took Leslie 2.5 days to trap him even after coordinating efforts with the local SPCA and our local Humane Society. Then the Thursday before Christmas he decided he wanted help. By that time his front right leg has also been crammed through the neck of the broken glass jar in an effort to try and push the jar off, he accidentally trapped his front right leg. He was rushed to a local urgent care facility. The veterinarian treating him sedated him, removed the jar, examined him and did blood work.

It has taken patience, wholesome nutrition and lots of love. Now our boy Tunia has adapted very well to being an indoor cat. Tunia (left) snuggled into a cat bed with Jxin, our feline, well socialized, ambassador.

He is best friends with our feline ambassador named Jxin (pronounced Zin). And he sleeps every night in bed with Leslie, and her two other cats, Leilani and Jxin. Good boy Tunia! So happy we could give you a better life. Help us rescue more feral cats like Tunia.
