Frequently Asked Questions
Everyone who loves animals can become a part of something greater than yourself by becoming involved at a level comfortable to you. Your generous cash donations, your purchase of items in our Nonprofit Wish List on Chewy’s Website, or by volunteering either locally at our Reno facility or remotely — we welcome it all. We have virtual volunteers from many areas of the world.

Absolutely. Because we use therapeutic nutrition when feeding the animals under our care, we have many expenses that typical animal rescues do not.
We are currently fundraising to cover Oreo’s second phase of diagnostic vet visits. These will include a consultation with a local vet who does stem cell therapy to determine if she is a good candidate for this procedure. Also, an initial consultation with a local holistic veterinary Physical Therapist to determine type and length of therapy required. We also need to repeat blood work to check on the progress of lowering her elevated liver enzyme values. Plus, we have been working to eliminate an antibiotic-resistant urinary tract infection (UTI). If this infection persists Oreo will need to be sedated for a special urinary tract flush.
The information gained will help us map her long-term treatment plan, physical therapy needs, and secure a corporate sponsor to support her recovery.
